The Relocation Readiness Programs helps soldiers and families reduce or eliminate problems related to frequent moves and offers a variety of services with-in its own program. These services include:
 
> Newcomer’s Orientations
Offered to Soldiers, Family Members and DoD Civilians. The Relocation Readiness Program has partnered with In-processing and conducts an over-all briefing of ACS services to Soldiers and Family Members every other month starting in January at the Ft. Eustis Club 1000-1130, date are on the ACS calendar. Free onsite childcare is provided; no preregistration required. 6 weeks to 12 years in the summer, up to 5 years old during school months.
 
> Lending Closet
The lending closet is administered to provide basic housekeeping items for temporary loan to incoming and outgoing families and in other cases determined appropriate. ACS personnel stock the lending closet with good quality items. At a minimum, items provided include basic kitchen equipment, high chairs, portable play pens, microwaves, ironing boards, and irons. This service can be used by incoming and outgoing personnel on PCS orders.
 
> Welcome Packets
Upon arrival to the installation stop by  ACS to put together a packet of maps, relocation assistance information, childcare resources, highlights  of the area, and more. Make a welcome packet that will meet your family’s needs from the large variety of materials available at the Relocation Readiness library. > Sponsorship Training
Group trainings are available for branches of military Service Members.  Training instructs Service Members how to be sponsors, where to locate information to send to incoming personnel and how to be an effective sponsor.
 
> Waiting Spouses Program – “Hearts Apart”
Offers support for waiting Families by linking Family members and children with other Families who are left behind due to the sponsor’s mission requirements. Hearts Apart is not a Family Readiness Group, but a supportive outreach service that assists the groups in their goal of maintaining military connectivity for identified waiting Family members.
