> INPROCESSING:
Registering for school must be done as soon as possible upon arriving in the area. Registration must be completed at the attending school; however, children with special needs must be registered at the district office (please make sure to bring your child’s IEP from the previous school). The TDAP immunization (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) is now required for all students entering the 6th grade. Also, all children entering any Virginia elementary school for the first time are required to have a school physical just prior to enrollment; therefore, to ensure prompt enrollment upon arrival to the Fort Eustis area, arrange for your child’s physical before leaving your current installation.
> OUTPROCESSING:
Notify the school’s office as soon as you have recieved an estimated departure date. Visit your school prior to departure to officially withdraw (must be a parent or legal guardian, no step-parents). Receive a copy of the withdrawl documents and/or records to include an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) if your child is receiving special education services. IEP forms will be available after the withdrawl process has been completed. To receive a copy of the school records, in addition to the withdrawl form, you must give the departing school 48 hours notice at the least.
